The Federal Government of Nigeria has officially taken over Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED), upgrading it to a Federal University. This move makes TASUED one of only three specialized Universities of Education in the country, underscoring the government’s commitment to strengthening teacher education and human capital development.
Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, expressed appreciation to President Bola Tinubu for approving the transition, highlighting his dedication to transforming the education sector for national progress.
He also lauded Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, for his support and confidence in the Federal Government’s vision to enhance Nigeria’s academic landscape.
Additionally, Dr. Alausa recognized the Awujale of Ijebu-land, His Royal Majesty, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, for his unwavering support in facilitating this historic change, which promises long-term benefits for the region.
