The Nigeria Union of Journalists ( NUJ ) FCT  Council has felicitated with members in this year’s Christmas celebrations.

In a statement issued and signed on Wednesday in Abuja by the Secretary of Council, Comrade Jide Oyekunle the union wished all its members a Merry Christmas and prosperous 2025 in advance.

The union called on members to use the occasion to rededicate themselves to the work of God and pray fervently for the union against the untimely death that ravaged the council recently.
“ The Nigeria Union of Journalists ( NUJ )  FCT Council wishes to extend its heartfelt felicitation to its members in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

“ We implore you to use the lessons of the Christmas season to foster peace and prosperity for development of the journalism profession and the country as a whole. We should pray to God and ask Him to put an end to untimely death in our council.

“ Christmas is a season of love and sober reflection on an exemplary life of Jesus Christ to touch lives positively in the society as taught in the Holy Bible by the Saviour whose birthday we are celebrating. Let us reach out in our own little way and put a smile on somebody’s face today.

“ This time of year is a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the blessings we have received and for keeping us alive despite the economic reality and challenge in the country.

The statement noted that Christmas symbolises sacrifice, love and dedication just as it called members to reflect on these and chart a new way for a prosperous union as they celebrate Christmas with their families and friends.

“  May this Christmas bring you and your loved ones peace, joy, and happiness. Let us celebrate the spirit of giving, kindness, and togetherness that this season embodies. We encourage you to take time to relax, recharge, and enjoy the company of family and friends.

“ We assure all members that the NUJ FCT Council will continue to prioritize their welfare and interest and will not leave anybody behind. Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year. The statement added.
