Authorities have issued an urgent heatwave warning, cautioning residents across several Nigerian states about an imminent rise in temperatures over the next three to four days. Both daytime and nighttime temperatures are expected to soar, coupled with high humidity levels, increasing the risk of heat-related illnesses and discomfort.

Regions at Risk
The states expected to experience the highest levels of thermal discomfort include:

North-Central & Eastern States: Kebbi, Niger, Kwara, Oyo, Kogi, Nasarawa, Benue, Enugu, Anambra, Abia, Ebonyi, Cross River, and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Other Affected Areas: Parts of the Southwest, coastal regions, and states such as Taraba, Adamawa, Plateau, Kaduna, Zamfara, and Sokoto.
