The highly anticipated Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) 2025 lit up Lagos, Nigeria, on Saturday night, drawing an impressive lineup of Africa’s biggest film and television stars. The glittering ceremony, known for celebrating the best in African storytelling, saw Lisabi: The Uprising, led by actor and filmmaker Lateef Adedimeji, clinching top honours in key categories.

The prestigious event, hosted by Africa Magic, recognised outstanding achievements across film, television, digital content, and indigenous productions. From moving documentaries to groundbreaking scripted and unscripted content, this year’s AMVCA reflected the diversity and creativity defining Africa’s entertainment industry today.

Notable Wins of the Night:
Lisabi: The Uprising emerged as a standout, winning Best Indigenous Language Film (West Africa), while The Legend of The Vagabond (Queen Of Lagos), directed by Leo Purman, claimed Best Cinematography. In the music category, Tolu Obanro’s work on Seven Doors earned him the award for Best Music/Score.
