NiMet Holds Budget Retreat, Focuses on Infrastructure, Efficiency

The Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet), Prof. Charles Anosike, has called on staff to implement the agency’s 2025 budget in alignment with its strategic objectives.

Speaking at NiMet’s Budget Retreat on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, Prof. Anosike emphasized the need to prioritize projects and activities that align with the agency’s five key themes: infrastructure development, financial sufficiency, stakeholder partnerships, employee growth and welfare, and operational efficiency.

“We must ensure that our projects and activities conform to NiMet’s strategic objectives. The outcome will be a vibrant, efficient, and sustainable agency,” he stated.

He also urged staff to strictly adhere to procurement laws and processes, emphasizing that budgetary performance is crucial to achieving NiMet’s overall goals.

The retreat served as a platform to review the 2025 budget, discuss managerial and welfare-related issues, and assess the agency’s achievements so far.
