The Nigeria Police Force has commenced the official pull-out ceremony for former Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, marking the end of his tenure as the nation’s top cop.
The ceremonial event, a long-standing tradition in the police force, signifies the formal retirement and honouring of a former Inspector-General for their service to the country.
Egbetokun stepped down from office last month after serving as the 22nd Inspector-General of Police. His exit paved the way for the appointment of Olatunji Disu, a former Assistant Inspector-General of Police, as his successor.
President Bola Tinubu approved Disu’s appointment as the new IGP as part of efforts to sustain ongoing reforms and strengthen policing across the country.
