British broadcaster and outspoken Arsenal supporter Piers Morgan has reignited debate surrounding the club’s transfer policy, asserting that the Gunners would have clinched three Premier League titles had they signed Cristiano Ronaldo after his departure from Manchester United.
Morgan made the bold claim on Saturday night via a post on X (formerly Twitter), shortly after Ronaldo delivered a stellar performance for Al-Nassr in the Saudi Pro League. The Portuguese icon scored twice—including a stunning second goal—to lead Al-Nassr to a 2-1 victory over Al-Riyadh at Al-Awwal Park.
Reflecting on Ronaldo’s display, Morgan wrote:
“I wish Arsenal had taken my advice to sign @Cristiano when he left United and was keen to come to us. We’d have probably won 3 League titles if he’d been leading our line, he’s still one of the best finishers in the world.”
The 40-year-old forward continues to defy age with his consistent goal-scoring form, fueling Morgan’s frustration over what he sees as a missed opportunity by Arsenal.
Al-Nassr is scheduled to return to action next Friday against Al-Qadisiyah.
