International Youth Day: Leaders Call on Nigerian Youth to Reject Quick Money Syndrome, Build a Productive Future

In commemoration of the International Youth Day Celebration, Youths have been advised to be drivers and changers for a productive economy.

The National Youth Council of Nigeria NYCN has called on Nigerian youths to embrace patriotism, innovation, and productivity, declaring that the time has come to move beyond mere potential and actively drive national development.

The President of the National Youth Council of Nigeria NYCN, Solomon Adodo gave the advice in Abuja during the commemoration of the International Youth Day Celebration.

The NYCN President Solomon Adodo conveyed the government’s commitment to youth empowerment, citing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda as a foundation for national Transformation.

According to him, the Secretary to the Government of the federation, Senator George Akume, personally assured him of the federal government’s support for youth initiatives.

He highlighted collaborations between the NYCN and key industrialist, including innocent Motors founder, innocent Chukwuma who has pledged to expand skills training across Nigeria’s 36 states.

Chief Chukwuma challenge young people Nigerians to take responsibility for their success or failure, stating: “if you fail, it’s your fault. If you succeed, it is your effort.”

Another supporter, Gabros Group founder Chief Gabriel Chukwuma, was appointed chairman of the NYCN board of patrons, committing to mobilize resources for youth-led projects.

The NYCN President urge Nigeria youth Nationwide to emulate global success stories and United behind three core values: Patriotism, Honesty, Sincerity, Innovation and Critical Thinking.

 

The Commandant General of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp, Prof. Abubakar Ahmed, Represented by the Deputy Commandant of the SCDC, Benedicta Onyeogu highlighted the misuse of mobile technology among youths, including negative activities with the vast potential of digital tools to generate legal income.

“The wise ones use this digital system to make millions in a positive way,” Benedicta said, noting that personal online teaching and consultancy can yield substantial returns.

Commandant Benedicta added that Nigeria Youths should reject quick money syndrome.”Anything that comes so fast always goes fast.”

She encouraged endurance, hard work and gradual progress to achieve success.

The Deputy Commandant called on collective responsibility from all stakeholders, government, NGOs, traditional institutions and families to create an environment where Nigeria youth can thrive.

 

Also the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, Represented by the Director future casting Nigeria Army Heritage and future centre, AGL Haruna Commending the resilience and brilliance of Nigerian youth.

Major General Haruna highlighted the military resilience on young personel in operations such as operation Desert Sanity, he encouraged more youth to consider careers in the armed forces.

He cautioned against migration, citing examples of xenophobic policies abroad.

“Why go where you will be traumatized? Nigerians should build Nigeria so that others will want to come here,”

 

Major General Haruna urge young Nigerians not to be tools for others agenda but to work for the greatness of their country.
