The remains of Nigeria’s former President, Muhammadu Buhari, will bei laid to rest tomorrow, Tuesday, in his hometown of Daura, Katsina State. This follows the conclusion of funeral arrangements between his family, close associates, and the Katsina State Government.
Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda announced the details while addressing journalists in Katsina on Monday. According to him, the late statesman’s remains will arrive in Daura from London later today ahead of the funeral prayers scheduled for 2:00 pm tomorrow.
Governor Radda conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved Buhari family, the people of Katsina State, and Nigerians at large, urging them to pray for the peaceful repose of the former leader’s soul.
He assured that both the Katsina State Government and the Federal Government, in collaboration with Buhari’s family, are working together to give the late elder statesman a dignified and befitting burial.
“We pray Almighty Allah grants his soul eternal rest and rewards him with Aljannatul Firdaus. We also extend our sympathy to the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, over the passing of his predecessor. May Allah give the nation the strength to bear this monumental loss,” Governor Radda expressed.
The death of Muhammadu Buhari has drawn tributes from leaders across Nigeria and West Africa, as the nation prepares to bid farewell to one of its most influential political figures.
