The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has paid an emotional tribute to his wife, Pastor Foluke Adeboye, as she marked her 78th birthday, describing her as his closest companion and a steadfast partner in life and ministry.
In a birthday message titled “To My Lover, Foluke,” shared on his X account, the 84-year-old cleric reflected on their 58 years of marriage, expressing gratitude for her unwavering support throughout their family life and ministerial journey.
“Great has been the journey of walking side by side with you,” Adeboye wrote.
“Today, on your 78th birthday, it is a gift to me to have the world join me in doing what I have spent 58 years doing: celebrating you.
“With you, the weight of the assignment has always been a lighter cross to carry. Our two have agreed, and so our walking together has been of divine stride, a race continuously illuminated, step after step, decade after decade. My path shines brighter because I walk it with you.”
Adeboye said that while millions within the RCCG family affectionately know her as “Mummy G.O.,” he cherishes the privilege of knowing her simply as his wife, confidante and friend.
“Many people know you as Mummy G.O.; I have the privilege of knowing you simply as my wife, my friend,” he said.
He commended her sacrifices, compassion and unwavering faith, noting that her devotion has positively impacted their children, the church and countless families.
“Our children have been blessed because of your love. The family of God has been blessed because of your devotion,” he added.
Reflecting on their decades together, the cleric thanked God for her life and prayed for continued strength, peace, joy and fruitfulness.
“Seventy-eight years of your life, fifty-eight years of them beside me, and still I find new reasons to thank God for you,” he wrote.
“You have been wife, counsel and companion in every sense the word was ever meant to hold. As you celebrate today, my prayer is simple: May the God whom you have served so faithfully continue to uphold you. May He surround you with His peace, fill your days with fresh joy, strengthen your body, renew your strength and continue to satisfy you with His goodness.
“May the years ahead be even more fruitful than those behind, and may you continue to see the mighty hand of God at work in your life. Thank you for walking hand in hand with me. Happy 78th birthday, my love.”
Pastor Enoch and Pastor Foluke Adeboye were married in 1967 and have four children.
