Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan has added another prestigious medal to her collection, winning silver in the women’s 100m hurdles final at the Tokyo 2025 World Athletics Championships, solidifying her status as one of the world’s top hurdlers.

Amusan finished in second place with a remarkable time of 12.29 seconds, just behind Switzerland’s Ditaji Kambundji, who claimed gold and set a new national record of 12.24 seconds. The bronze medal went to Grace Stark of the United States, who crossed the line in 12.34 seconds.

The fiercely contested final saw another American, Masai Russell, narrowly miss the podium with a fourth-place finish at 12.44 seconds.

Amusan’s performance follows a solid semifinal run of 12.36 seconds, where she showed consistency and determination to book her place in the final. Despite stiff competition, the former world record holder delivered a strong race, showcasing her experience and elite athletic ability.

The silver medal marks yet another major milestone in Amusan’s illustrious career and continues her streak of representing Nigeria on the global stage with distinction. Known for her explosive starts and technical precision over the hurdles, Amusan has once again proven she belongs among the very best.

Her return to the podium at the World Championships comes after a season of highs and challenges, including a fourth-place finish at the Racers Grand Prix in Jamaica earlier this year.
