The long-running paternity controversy involving Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has taken a new turn as the woman and child at the centre of the dispute publicly challenged his recent denial of fatherhood.
In a series of Instagram posts, 12-year-old Anuoluwapo Mitchelle and her mother, Ayo Labinjoh, accused the singer of bullying, making threats, and spreading false information about DNA tests allegedly conducted to determine the child’s paternity.
Davido had earlier claimed that five DNA tests had proven he is not the girl’s father.
However, Anuoluwapo and her mother insist that only one test was ever carried out and allege that it was fraudulent.
Reacting on her Instagram page, @anuadeleke001, Anuoluwapo said she was hurt by Davido’s response to her earlier request for a DNA test.

“My dad Mr David Adeleke replied me earlier this evening. I was devastated on the way he cursed me out, bullied me and threatened to lock my mother up simply because I want to establish my identity,” she wrote.
She also accused the singer of changing his narrative regarding the number of DNA tests.
“He also tweeted to the world calling my mom a ‘bitch’ he never met yet claiming he now had 5 DNA tests with me. First it was two, now it’s 5. He even said the last one was on my 10th birthday,” she said.
According to her, only one test was conducted.
“According to my mom, we only went for one test which… was fake as posted on her statement pinned on top of this page,” she added.
Anuoluwapo thanked Nigerians and the media for their support, noting that her mother would release chat messages later.
“My mom will post the chat later. My mother has moved on and does not appreciate these false information,” she wrote.
In a separate post, Ayo Labinjoh dismissed Davido’s remarks and the language used to describe her.
“First things first, my name is Ayo Labinjoh. I’m not Davido’s baby mama or a bitch,” she wrote.
She said her priority has always been her daughter’s mental health, especially after years of online bullying.
“I am very protective of my daughter’s mental health after the level of bullying she went through for years,” she stated.
Labinjoh alleged that the controversy had deeply affected her child.
“My daughter cried for days, fainted in school and went through psychotherapy,” she said.
Labinjoh also challenged Davido’s DNA claims, recalling earlier statements from the singer’s legal team.
“Last time it was his lawyer who brainwashed Nigerians that there were 2 tests done and I chose the hospital,” she wrote.
She further alleged that the laboratory process was compromised.
“We wasted our time, disrupted Anu’s mental health then they lied that we did two tests, now 5 and then he’s never met me,” she said, claiming that the blood samples taken were never tested.
Labinjoh also accused Davido of directly threatening her daughter.
“David chatted my daughter tonight threatening to lock me up,” she alleged.
If another DNA test is to be conducted, Labinjoh said she would seek international oversight.
“David is a US citizen. I will request the US State Department to contact the Embassy in Lagos or Abuja to help us supervise and witness a clean independent DNA test,” she wrote.
The renewed exchange follows Davido’s earlier public denial of paternity on Instagram and X, where he stated:
“I have taken 5 DNA tests, all negative. I am not your father.”
The singer also claimed he had no personal relationship with Labinjoh outside the DNA process and described the allegations as “nonsense.”
The dispute has once again sparked widespread public debate, with both sides standing firmly by their versions of events regarding the DNA tests and their past interactions.
