Nigerian music stars Seun Kuti and Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr P of the defunct P-Square group, have reconciled months after a public feud sparked by their differing political views during the 2023 general elections.
The disagreement, which unfolded on social media in 2023, was rooted in opposing opinions over the presidential ambition of Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s candidate in the election.
The rift began when Seun Kuti described Obi as an “opportunist,” a comment that drew a swift backlash from Peter Okoye.
In response, Okoye questioned Kuti’s relevance and commercial success as an artiste. The exchange quickly escalated into a heated online confrontation, attracting widespread public attention.
The two musicians have now put the dispute behind them, signaling an end to the politically charged fallout that divided fans at the height of the election season.
