President Bola Tinubu has assented to the 2026 Appropriation Bill, approving a total expenditure of ₦68.32 trillion for the new fiscal year.
The President also signed into law a separate measure extending the implementation period of the 2025 budget into the coming year, a move aimed at ensuring continuity in ongoing government projects and preventing funding gaps.
According to the breakdown of the newly signed budget, ₦4.799 trillion has been allocated to statutory transfers, while ₦15.8 trillion is earmarked for debt servicing obligations.
