Orphanages in Aba, Umuahia Receive six Million Donation, Supplies

Six orphanages and destitute homes in Aba and Umuahia have received ₦6 million in cash donations, along with food items and toiletries, to enhance the welfare of their residents.

The donations were presented in Umuahia by Mrs. Priscilla Otti, wife of Abia State Governor Alex Otti, as part of her commitment to supporting vulnerable communities.

Represented by Mrs. Adaeze Emetu, wife of the Deputy Governor, Mrs. Otti expressed her appreciation for the dedication and hard work of caregivers in the facilities.

Each of the six orphanages received ₦1,000,000 in cash, more than 30 bags of rice weighing 50kg each, assorted food supplies, and essential toiletries.

Leaders of the benefitting homes, including Reverend Sister Maria Anita Ogbonna of Ahiaeke Motherless Babies Home and Madam Oyibo Okonkwo of Agape Charity Home, praised Governor Otti and his wife for their compassion and focus on improving the welfare of destitute homes.

The initiative underscores the Abia State government’s commitment to addressing the needs of vulnerable groups and recognizing the efforts of caregivers who provide critical support in these homes.
