The National Board for Technology Incubation (NBTI) has joined forces with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to tackle corruption using technology-driven solutions.

Dr. Kazeem Kolawole Raji, Director General/CEO of NBTI, reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to promoting transparency and accountability during a courtesy visit to EFCC Chairman, Mr. Ola Olukoyede.

Dr. Raji commended Mr. Olukoyede’s leadership in strengthening Nigeria’s anti-corruption efforts, noting that the EFCC has achieved significant milestones under his tenure.

These include recovering over N200 billion and successfully prosecuting approximately 3,000 corruption cases in a single year.

Such achievements, he said, have reinforced global confidence in Nigeria’s commitment to fighting financial crimes.

Emphasizing that corruption remains one of the biggest barriers to economic growth, Dr. Raji highlighted NBTI’s role in fostering innovation while ensuring accountability in small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) funding.

Through this partnership, both agencies will deploy advanced technologies to prevent financial mismanagement and fraud in business transactions.

Key areas of collaboration include:
– Real-time financial monitoring tools to detect and prevent corruption.
– AI-driven data analytics to track illicit financial activities.
– Ensuring accountability in SME and startup funding.
– Capacity-building programs to promote ethical business practices.
– Rehabilitation initiatives that provide entrepreneurial training for reformed offenders.

Representing the EFCC Chairman, Mr. Muhammad Hassan Hammajoda, Secretary of the Commission, welcomed the partnership and praised Dr. Raji’s vision of integrating technology into Nigeria’s economic transformation.

“This collaboration is a game-changer,” Dr. Raji remarked. “It signals a bold step toward restoring public trust, attracting investment, and building a corruption-free economy.”

He further highlighted NBTI’s recent achievements, including an incubatee winning the prestigious $1 million Zayed Sustainability Prize and a new MoU with the Kwara State Government to establish a world-class technology incubation hub.

Dr. Raji concluded by emphasizing that technological innovation and integrity must go hand in hand for Nigeria’s sustainable development.

“With the EFCC’s enforcement power and NBTI’s innovation-driven approach, we are creating a future where transparency, accountability, and economic growth flourish together.”
