Kwara's Amirul-Hajj Urges Pilgrims to Uphold Discipline as 560 Depart for Saudi Arabia

The third batch of 560 intending pilgrims from Kwara State has successfully departed Ilorin for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to perform the 2025 Hajj pilgrimage.

Before their departure, the State Amirul-Hajj and Olupo of Ajase-Ipo, Barrister Ismail Yahaya Alebiosu, addressed the pilgrims, urging them to remain law-abiding and conduct themselves with dignity throughout their stay in the Holy Land. He also commended the Kwara State Government for its unwavering support in facilitating a seamless Hajj operation.

Leading the third batch are five officials from the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) alongside three state government representatives, accompanied by other notable personalities. This latest departure brings the total number of Kwara pilgrims airlifted for the 2025 Hajj to 1,535.

According to the Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, the fourth and final batch of intending pilgrims is scheduled to depart for Saudi Arabia on Monday, May 19, 2025. Upon completion, a total of 2,174 pilgrims from Kwara State will have been airlifted for this year’s sacred Hajj exercise.

The Amirul-Hajj further encouraged the pilgrims to offer prayers for peace, unity, and prosperity in Nigeria while in the Holy Land.
