Nottingham Forest have appointed Sean Dyche as their new head coach on a deal running until 2027 as announced by the Premier League club today.
The 54-year-old former Burnley and Everton boss replaces Ange Postecoglou, who was sacked just 40 days into his tenure, making him the shortest-serving permanent manager in Premier League history.
Dyche, who began his playing career as a trainee at Forest under Brian Clough, is the club’s third manager this season.
Forest had reportedly held talks with Roberto Mancini and were also linked with Fulham’s Marco Silva before settling on Dyche.
In a statement, Forest praises Dyche as “a respected and experienced Premier League manager” with the right blend of leadership, tactical insight, and proven success to take the club forward.
Dyche’s first game in charge will be Thursday’s Europa League clash at home against Porto, followed by a Premier League trip to Bournemouth on Sunday.
His coaching team includes former Forest players Ian Woan and Steve Stone.
Postecoglou was dismissed after a 3-0 loss to Chelsea, with Forest winless in their opening eight matches and stuck in the relegation zone despite spending over £100 million on summer transfers.
He had replaced Nuno Espirito Santo, who left in September after clashing with owner Evangelos Marinakis.
