The African Aviation and Aerospace University (AAAU), Abuja, has taken a significant step toward its future growth and development by receiving the finalized Master Plan document. This landmark document will serve as the blueprint for the university’s physical and infrastructural development over the next decade.
The Master Plan, meticulously crafted by Dr. Dosumu Nicholas, a distinguished town planner, outlines a clear vision for the university’s growth. It is based on AAAU’s Academic Brief, ensuring alignment with its educational objectives. The plan includes a detailed executive summary, project scope, physical development guidelines, phased infrastructural projects, design frameworks, and cost projections, all of which will guide the university’s evolution over the coming years.
Engr. Mas’ud Aliyu Yerima, the Director of Physical Planning and Works (DPPW), expressed pride and fulfillment in leading this transformative initiative. As the pioneer DPPW tasked with implementing such an ambitious plan, he acknowledged the unwavering support of the Registrar, Mustapha Sheikh Abdullahi, and the dedication of all staff members.
“The receipt of this Master Plan marks a new chapter for AAAU,” Engr. Yerima stated. “It demonstrates our commitment to building a world-class institution that aligns with our academic goals and the broader aspirations of the aviation and aerospace sector”.
AAAU extended its heartfelt gratitude to the Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo (SAN, CON, FCIArB), the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Emmanuel C. Meribole, and the Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development (FMA & AD). Their unwavering support and contributions were pivotal in the successful completion and submission of the Master Plan.
This milestone highlights AAAU’s dedication to advancing education in aviation and aerospace, further positioning it as a hub for innovation and excellence in the region. The 10-year plan underscores the university’s long-term commitment to fostering academic and infrastructural development that meets global standards.
