Amid Nigeria’s ongoing economic challenges, the Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Kwara, Right Reverend Sunday Adewole, has called on Nigerians to live in the consciousness of Christ’s resurrection by embracing righteousness, love, and hope.

Delivering his Easter Sunday message at the Cathedral of Saint Barnabas Church in Sabo-Oke, Ilorin, Bishop Adewole emphasized that the resurrection of Jesus Christ remains the cornerstone of the Christian faith, symbolizing freedom, forgiveness, and triumph over death.

“Christ’s resurrection is a reminder that there is life after death and a judgment to come. This truth should inspire Christians to do good and live according to God’s word,” the bishop stated during the 2025 Easter celebration.

He encouraged Christians to remain expectant of the second coming of Christ, urging them not to grow weary in acts of charity, service to humanity, and devotion to God.

Addressing the nation’s current economic situation, Bishop Adewole appealed to all levels of government to intensify efforts in alleviating the hardship faced by millions of Nigerians.

“The government is trying, but the people are still hungry. Like Oliver Twist, we ask for more. We need leaders who fear God and are committed to easing the suffering in the land,” he added.

The bishop also offered prayers for divine wisdom and a successful conclusion to the tenure of the current administration.
