Afrobeats star Davido has confirmed that his long-anticipated collaborative album with American R&B singer Chris Brown is on course for release next year, reigniting excitement among fans after nearly two years of speculation.

The Nigerian singer disclosed this on the sidelines of his performance at Coachella 2026, where he offered the clearest update yet on the project.

Speaking with Swift Conversations, Davido said, “There’s definitely more music. Me and Chris Brown got an album coming out hopefully at the end of next year.”

The comment marks the first time a potential release timeline has been attached to the much-anticipated joint project, signaling major progress on an album fans have long awaited.

Davido and Chris Brown’s musical partnership stretches back seven years, beginning with their hit collaboration Blow My Mind from Davido’s A Good Time. That same year, Davido featured on Lower Body from Chris Brown’s Indigo.

Their collaborative streak continued with Shopping Spree, which also featured Young Thug, and later Nobody Needs To Know from Chris Brown’s Breezy.

One of the duo’s biggest milestones came with Sensational, featuring Lojay, which earned both artistes their first entry on the Billboard Hot 100 and secured a nomination at the Grammy Awards.

Their most recent collaboration, Hmm, appeared on Chris Brown’s 11:11.

Davido has previously described Chris Brown as one of the greatest performers alive and hinted the pair have recorded enough material for multiple projects.

Ahead of the collaborative album, both stars are also preparing separate releases. Davido has suggested his next album will lean heavily into African sounds, while Chris Brown is reportedly readying his 12th studio album.

Industry buzz also points to a possible global tour following the album’s release, with fans anticipating performances across Europe and Africa.

Davido is currently on the European leg of his 5ive Alive Tour, continuing to expand his global reach as anticipation builds toward what could become one of the biggest cross-continental collaborations in recent music history.
