The Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet), Professor Charles Anosike, has been recognized for his outstanding contributions to public service at the 2025 African Leadership Persons of the Year Awards.
At the prestigious event, organized by the African Leadership Magazine and held in Casablanca, Morocco, on February 22, 2025, Prof. Anosike received the African Public Sector Leadership Impact Award. The award acknowledges his transformational leadership at NiMet and his role in advancing meteorological services in Nigeria.
The ceremony also honored distinguished African leaders across various sectors. Among the award recipients were:

Professor Anosike received his award from former President of Tanzania, Dr. Jakaya Kikwete, who serves as the Chairman of the African Leadership Organization Advisory Board. The event was graced by high-profile dignitaries and industry leaders, celebrating the impact of African leadership across governance, business, and public service.
