Theatre Commander of the Joint Task Force Northwest (Operation Fansan Yamma), Major-General Warrah Idris, has directed troops to maintain relentless pressure on the bandits responsible for the abduction of students from St. Mary’s Catholic School, Papiri, in Agwara Local Government Area of Niger State.
The directive was issued in a statement signed by Captain David Adewusi, Media Information Officer for Operation Fansan Yamma.
During a visit to the attack site on Saturday, Major-General Idris conducted an on-the-spot assessment and received a comprehensive briefing from the General Officer Commanding 2 Division and Commander of Sector 3 OPFY, Major-General C. R. Nnebiefe.
Reiterating the resolve of the military, Idris said the bandit groups were already under significant pressure from ongoing coordinated operations.
He called on troops to remain alert, block all escape routes, and ensure the criminals are denied any safe haven until every abducted student is safely rescued and reunited with their families.
The Theatre Commander also assured that all necessary resources, logistical support, and reinforcements would be provided to guarantee the success of the rescue efforts.
