Non Governmental Organization, Pregnancy Support Foundation in collaboration with Information Technologies Hub and Cynosure have embarked on a safe motherhood medical outreach to pregnant women at Katampe, in the FCT.

A nurse and Founder of Pregnancy Support Foundation, Mrs Adesuwa Oni advised pregnant women to take proper medication during pregnancy to prevent complications which may affect them or their babies.

Mrs. Adesuwa listed some of the challenges faced by pregnant women and advised their husbands to support their wife’s especially during the period.

In an interview Mrs. Adesuwa explained that Maternal mortality remained a major challenge, and that the Organization had carried out lots of outreaches but stated that funding was a major challenge.

One of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Celestina Sunday said through the program she had learned better ways of taking care of herself during pregnancy.

Mrs. Sunday appealed to the Federal Government to support them with free antenatal treatments and medications.
