The Nigeria Police Force has commenced the execution of President Bola Tinubu’s directive to withdraw police officers attached to Very Important Persons (VIPs) across the country.
Under the new security arrangement, all VIPs will now be required to engage armed personnel from the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) as their official security escorts.
President Tinubu issued the order on Sunday, November 23, following a high-level security meeting with all service chiefs.
The decision is part of ongoing efforts to restructure national security operations and redeploy police officers to core policing duties nationwide.
