Vice President Kashim Shettima has departed Nigeria for Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to represent the country at the 2nd United Nations Food Systems Summit Stocktake (UNFSS+4), scheduled to begin this week.
According to a statement by his spokesperson, Stanley Nkwocha, the summit—co-hosted by Ethiopia and Italy—will bring together world leaders to assess progress made since the inaugural 2021 UN Food Systems Summit and chart the way forward.
The meeting, tagged UNFSS+4, aims to accelerate global commitments toward building resilient, inclusive, and sustainable food systems, while aligning with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Global Goals Action Campaign.
Vice President Shettima will join other heads of state, ministers, private sector executives, and civil society representatives to discuss strategies for unlocking investments, improving accountability, and enhancing collaborative actions to achieve food security worldwide.
