In a congratulatory message, Ambassador Tuggar described the team as “true ambassadors of Nigerian excellence on the global stage,” praising their resilience, teamwork, and fighting spirit.
“The Super Falcons have once again shown what it means to represent Nigeria with pride and purpose,” Tuggar said. “Their determination and consistency reflect the values we hold dear as a nation.”
He commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his commitment to sports development and acknowledged the strategic leadership of Mr. Shehu Dikko and the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) in creating an enabling environment for success.
“This historic win is the result of sound management, purposeful leadership, and the unshakable spirit of Nigerian athletes,” Tuggar stated.
The Minister also emphasized the symbolic importance of the Falcons’ victory, calling it an inspiration for young African girls and a testament to Nigeria’s strength on and off the pitch.
“This achievement is more than a sporting triumph; it is a diplomatic symbol of Nigeria’s unity and influence,” Tuggar said, reaffirming the Ministry’s support for sports diplomacy to enhance Nigeria’s global image.
The Super Falcons’ win solidifies their status as Africa’s most decorated women’s football team.
