The organisers of the WINSEC Summit & Awards 2026 have announced a change in the date of the highly anticipated event, shifting it from June 30 to August 5, 2026.
The decision was reached following a critical meeting of the WINSEC 2026 Central Planning Committee held in Abuja, where members reviewed issues of national importance before agreeing to reschedule the event.
According to a notice issued by the organisers, all other arrangements, including the venue, remain unchanged.
The leadership of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) and its collaborating partners expressed regret over any inconvenience the postponement may cause to invited guests, dignitaries, award recipients, sponsors, supporters and other stakeholders.
The organisers, however, reassured the public that preparations for the summit and awards ceremony remain on course, describing the event as the first initiative of its kind in Nigeria.
They noted that the WINSEC Summit & Awards 2026 is designed to celebrate excellence, promote leadership and create opportunities for engagement among women and key stakeholders across various sectors.
“We sincerely regret any inconvenience this change may have caused our distinguished guests, revered personalities, award recipients, sponsors, well-wishers and other critical stakeholders,” the statement said.
The organisers added that the event, now scheduled for Wednesday, August 5, 2026, promises to be a landmark gathering that will set a new standard of excellence and leave a lasting impact on participants.
They also thanked stakeholders for their understanding, patience and continued support, while expressing confidence that the summit would deliver a memorable and successful experience.
