Twelve-year-old Nigerian actor Chibuchi Francis has won a bronze medal in the Acting category for ages 11–12 at the 2026 World Championships of Performing Arts (WCOPA) in Las Vegas, Nevada, marking another international milestone for Nigeria’s creative industry.
The annual competition, often described as the “Entertainment Olympics,” brought together performers from more than 80 countries to compete in acting, singing, dancing, modelling, instrumental performance and other creative disciplines.
Chibuchi represented Team Nigeria under the leadership of the National Director of WCOPA Team Nigeria and Founder of Street2Fame Nigeria Performing Arts Entertainment, Ambassador Lovethpatra White Ekufu.
According to the organisation, the young actor’s participation was fully sponsored by Street2Fame Nigeria Performing Arts Entertainment as part of its talent development initiative designed to expose gifted Nigerian children to international opportunities.
Reacting to the achievement on Sunday, Ekufu said Chibuchi’s success demonstrates the immense potential of Nigerian youths when provided with the right platform.
“The bronze medal won by Chibuchi David Francis proves that Nigerian youths possess world-class talent. When young people are given the opportunity to dream, prepare and compete, they can excel on the global stage,” she said.
She urged stakeholders to invest more in structured talent development, saying the achievement should encourage more Nigerian children to pursue careers in the creative arts.
Ekufu also reaffirmed Street2Fame’s commitment to discovering and nurturing young talents through professional training, mentorship and international exposure.
She disclosed that the organisation is expanding its talent development programme through state and zonal championships, national competitions, professional training initiatives and Nigeria’s continued participation at the World Championships of Performing Arts.
The organisation added that it is also developing international career pathways and continental championships across Africa to provide more opportunities for emerging performers.
The World Championships of Performing Arts is an annual international talent competition that showcases performers from around the world across multiple entertainment disciplines.
