The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced an extension of the ongoing collection of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) in Anambra State.

A statement by the Director of Voter Education and Publicity at INEC, Mrs. Victoria Etta-Messi, says the decision followed numerous appeals from citizens and stakeholders to seek more time for eligible voters to collect their cards.

“Initially slated to end on Sunday, October 26, the PVC collection exercise will now continue from Wednesday, October 29, to Sunday, November 2, 2025.”

According to the statement, the extension will primarily benefit individuals who registered during the recent Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise in the state.

INEC encouraged all registered voters who were yet to pick up their PVCs to seize this opportunity and visit any of the 326 designated collection centres across Anambra’s registration areas (wards).

The Commission reiterated that PVC collection was strictly in person, emphasizing that proxy collection would not be permitted.

INEC further urged all eligible voters to collect their PVCs and prepare to participate actively in the forthcoming Anambra Governorship Election scheduled for Saturday, November 8, 2025.
