Manchester United edged Crystal Palace 2–1 to end their recent winless run and bounce back from last weekend’s disappointing home loss to Everton.
Crystal Palace started the brighter side and took a deserved first-half lead through Jean-Philippe Mateta, who converted from the penalty spot.
The visitors could have gone into the break with a far greater advantage, but wasteful finishing kept United in the game.
Erik ten Hag’s men returned from the interval with renewed energy, and their breakthrough came when Joshua Zirkzee produced a stunning finish from a tight angle, his first league goal of the campaign and only his fourth for the club.
United completed the turnaround through another unlikely scorer. Mason Mount latched onto a clever layoff from Bruno Fernandes after a free kick on the edge of the box and drilled the ball into the bottom corner.
After surrendering their lead, Palace struggled to recreate the intensity of their impressive first-half display and failed to mount a meaningful response.
The win lifts Manchester United above Crystal Palace into sixth place, now just one point outside the Champions League spots.
