The African Action Congress (AAC) has called for an immediate and thorough investigation into the killing of nursing student Vivian Chilaka, describing the incident as a tragic loss that demands urgent justice.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the party expressed outrage over the circumstances surrounding Chilaka’s death and urged security agencies to swiftly identify, arrest and prosecute those responsible.
The AAC said the killing has raised serious concerns about the safety of young Nigerians, particularly students, and warned against any attempt to shield perpetrators from accountability.
“We demand a transparent and comprehensive investigation into the death of Vivian Chilaka. The authorities must ensure that justice is served and that those responsible are brought before the law,” the statement said.
The party extended its condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of the deceased, noting that the loss of a promising young nursing student has left many Nigerians in shock and mourning.
According to the AAC, the incident highlights the growing insecurity faced by citizens across the country and underscores the need for stronger measures to protect vulnerable groups, including students.
The party further called on the police and relevant authorities to keep the public informed of developments in the investigation, stressing that transparency would help build public confidence in the justice process.
Human rights advocates and concerned citizens have also joined calls for justice, urging authorities to ensure that the case is handled diligently and without interference.
As public concern continues to grow, attention is now focused on security agencies to uncover the circumstances surrounding Vivian Chilaka’s death and deliver justice to her family.
The AAC maintained that every life matters and insisted that the pursuit of justice for Vivian Chilaka must remain a priority until those responsible are held accountable.
