NDA Warns Kaduna Residents to Steer Clear of Live-Fire Training Zone

The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) has cautioned residents of Afaka, Kauya, and Mando in Kaduna State to avoid its open range as it conducts a live-fire training exercise from February 26 to March 1.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the NDA’s Public Relations Officer, Maj. Muhammad Maidawa, emphasized that the exercise is part of the advanced fire application training for Army Cadets of the 72 Regular Course.

The exercise will involve live ammunition, making it crucial for residents—including farmers, pedestrians, and cattle rearers—to heed safety warnings. The NDA has put up barriers and warning signs around the designated range to mark restricted zones.

“The safety and well-being of the surrounding communities remain our top priority,” Maidawa stated, urging full cooperation from residents to prevent any accidents.

The NDA reassured the public that these precautions are necessary for both civilian safety and the successful completion of the military training exercise.
