Oyo school principal’s husband holds thanksgiving after wife’s release from captivity

The husband of Mrs. Rachael Alamu, the principal of Ahoro Esinle School in Oyo State who was abducted alongside 43 students and staff members, has held a thanksgiving service following her rescue.

Mrs. Alamu was kidnapped on May 15 during an attack on the school in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State. She and the other victims regained their freedom on Friday after spending several weeks in captivity.

During a thanksgiving service held on Saturday at the First Baptist Church, Professor Alamu led the congregation in songs of praise, thanking God for the safe return of his wife and the other victims.

Photos and videos shared online showed the professor dancing with other worshippers as they sang “Hallelujah” in celebration of the successful rescue.
