Christie’s has announced the auction of FIFA World Cup memorabilia, including a match ball used in the 2026 FIFA World Cup final and costumes worn by halftime show performers, to raise funds for children’s education worldwide.
The New York-based auction house said on Tuesday that the week-long online auction will begin on July 22, with proceeds going to the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, an initiative aimed at raising $100 million to expand access to education for children around the world.
Among the headline items is a yellow crop top and matching trousers worn by Colombian pop star Shakira in the music video for Dai Dai, the official song of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Also up for auction is the outfit Shakira will wear during the inaugural FIFA World Cup final halftime show, an 11-minute performance featuring Madonna, Justin Bieber and BTS.
The auction will also include several official match balls, including one used in the World Cup final on July 19 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey and another from the tournament’s opening match in Mexico.
Other featured items include a 2022 Argentina jersey signed by captain Lionel Messi and a United States men’s national team jersey bearing the signatures of the squad.
The auction forms part of FIFA’s efforts to support global education initiatives through the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund.
