Nigerian singer Brymo has called on Burna Boy, Davido and 2Face to publicly clarify their alleged knowledge of an incident in which he claims he was lured under the guise of being hosted and pressured to join a cult.
Brymo made the allegation during a recent interview, saying he had remained silent about the incident for years but decided to speak after being repeatedly encouraged to grant interviews.
According to the singer, he is not seeking apologies from the artistes but wants them to publicly deny any involvement if they had no connection to the alleged incident.
“I don’t want statements of forgiveness from Burna Boy, Davido to face. How many? I wan make them tell me say true true, dem know what happened to me for Chevron or not? When I got attacked, when I was lured into being hosted, only to be told that I need to join cult,” he said.
Brymo alleged that he mentioned the names of three people in connection with the incident but chose to remain silent about it for years. He said he decided to speak publicly as the seventh anniversary of the alleged incident approaches.
The singer also criticised what he described as the continued silence of those he accused, saying he had repeatedly raised the matter on social media and television.
“Don’t say that, because as long as you don’t say that, you did it. Because I’m not whispering it, I’m tweeting it, I’m commenting it on Instagram, I say it on stories, on reels, on TV,” he said.
Brymo also dismissed what he described as delayed apologies, saying, “All this apologies is sh*t. You can’t apologise after seven years.”
He further questioned a reported comment attributed to Burna Boy about hustling, asking why such a remark was directed at him despite his career in music.
“All you have to say to me is that make I go hustle. Ooh, no be song you dey sing now? No be music you dey chop?” he said.
There was no indication in Brymo’s comments that the artistes had publicly admitted to involvement in the alleged incident.
