President Donald Trump has ordered flags across the United States to be flown at half-staff for one week in honour of country music legend Dolly Parton following her death.
Trump described Parton’s passing as a significant loss to millions of people around the world, saying the music icon was one of a kind.
“This is a true loss for millions of people. There has never been anyone like her, and never will,” Trump said in a tribute to Parton.
He added, “Rest in Peace, Dolly! The World loves you.”
Parton was widely celebrated for her decades-long career in music and entertainment and her influence on generations of fans.
