Social critic Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has responded to the Nigeria Police Force’s invitation to provide evidence backing his allegation that some police officers aid kidnappers in carrying out their activities.

VDM made the allegation while speaking at the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) conference in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on Tuesday, August 27.

The Nigeria Police Force subsequently challenged the social critic to substantiate his claims, insisting that police personnel deployed to checkpoints and other locations were responsible for preventing crime and protecting citizens.

Reacting to the police invitation, VDM said he was prepared to present the evidence in court.

He challenged the police to charge him to court, where, according to him, he would present the evidence supporting his allegations.

“To the Nigerian police, I said what I said. You will get your evidence when I am charged to court. I repeat, the police are the unknown gunmen and they aid kidnappings, and the military are also the unknown gunmen. Charge me to court; you will get the evidence there,” he wrote.

The social critic also used the hashtags #EndInsecurity and #RatelMovement in the post.
