The presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, has condemned an attack on his convoy in Calabar, the Cross River State capital.
The incident reportedly occurred along Murtala Muhammed Highway, around U.J. Esuene Stadium and Metropolitan Hotel, where the party was holding a town hall meeting.
Obi condemned the attack hours after the incident while addressing the party’s presidential town hall meeting in Calabar.
The meeting forms part of his nationwide political engagements ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The circumstances surrounding the attack and the extent of any damage or injuries were not immediately clear.
