President Bola Tinubu will begin a two-state visit to Akwa Ibom and Rivers states to inaugurate government projects and attend political rallies organised by the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Tinubu first arrives in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital, where he is scheduled to commission several projects completed by Governor Umo Eno’s administration before attending an APC rally.

According to a statement by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the projects include the new International Terminal Building, International Airport Hospital and Ibom Aviation Village at Victor Attah International Airport.

The President is also scheduled to inaugurate the Airport-Okopedi Road, which connects communities in Nsit Atai and Okobo Local Government Areas, and Ring Road 3, linking Idoro Road to Ikot Ekpene Road through Uyo and Ibiono Ibom.

Other projects listed for inauguration include the AKWA-GIS Office Complex, Command and Control Centre and ARISE Palm Resort.

Governor Eno declares a work-free day to enable residents to welcome the President during his visit.

From Akwa Ibom, Tinubu proceeds to Port Harcourt, Rivers State, where he is expected to attend an APC political rally.

Onanuga says the Rivers rally marks Tinubu’s third personal appearance at a campaign event since he formally launched his re-election campaign in Kaduna last month.

He says the visits provide opportunities for the President to engage political stakeholders, party members and supporters while promoting unity, political stability and national progress.

Tinubu’s planned appearances in the two states follow his earlier declaration that he would not personally attend campaign events in every state.

Speaking at the inauguration of the APC Presidential Campaign Council in Abuja last month, the President cites his responsibilities as head of government, the country’s financial obligations and the need to attract investors as reasons for limiting his campaign appearances.

The Kaduna rally marks his first personal appearance at a campaign event since the re-election campaign officially begins.
