The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced the suspension of the party’s National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, along with National Organising Secretary, Umar Bature, National Legal Adviser, Kamaldeen Ajibade and the Deputy National Legal Adviser Okechukwu Osouha.
Addressing newsmen after the meeting of the NWC in Abuja, the National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Debo Ologunagba said they are to appear before Disciplinary Committee to respond to allegations leveled against them.
Mr. Ologunagba said the Deputy National Secretary, is to serve as secretary while the National Directorate of Legal Services is to oversee the office of the legal Adviser in the meantime.
The suspension will last for 30 days, pending the outcome of investigations into undisclosed matters.
Mr. Olugunagba maintained that preparations for the National Elective convention scheduled for Ibadan between 15 and 16 of this month will continue despite court judgement.
The NWC stated that the decision was taken in line with the party’s constitution and disciplinary guidelines, reaffirming its commitment to maintaining internal order and accountability within its leadership structure.
