Nigeria Congratulates Rwanda on Independence, Applauds Socio-Economic Progress

Nigeria has extended warm felicitations to the Republic of Rwanda on the occasion of its Independence Anniversary, celebrating the East African nation’s journey of resilience, peace, and transformation.

In an official statement, the Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, conveyed his congratulations to Rwanda’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, His Excellency Olivier Nduhungirehe, on behalf of the Government and people of Nigeria.

Marking the occasion as a milestone in Rwanda’s history, Minister Tuggar praised the country’s socio-economic progress and its growing leadership role in both regional and international affairs. He commended President Paul Kagame’s visionary leadership, which has steered Rwanda through a remarkable path of reconstruction, innovation, and stability.

“As fellow members of the African Union and the Commonwealth of Nations, Nigeria holds its relationship with Rwanda in high regard and is committed to strengthening cooperation in trade, innovation, governance, and sustainable development,” the statement read.

Nigeria also reaffirmed its support for deeper pan-African unity, enhanced South-South cooperation, and collaborative efforts to achieve peace and prosperity across the continent.
