An Oyo State High Court sitting in Ibadan has ordered the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to proceed with its National Convention scheduled for November 15 and 16, 2025.

Delivering judgment, Justice Ladiran Akintola, granted all interim orders sought by the claimant, restraining any attempt to suspend, delay, or disrupt the planned national convention. He directed the PDP leadership to adhere strictly to its earlier timetable and guidelines for the event.

The court further held that the PDP National Convention must hold in Ibadan as scheduled, pending the determination of the substantive motion.

Additionally, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was instructed to attend, monitor, and observe the convention in accordance with the Electoral Act.

The case with suit number I/1336/2025, was filed by Folahan Malomo Adelabi, with the PDP, its Acting National Chairman, Umar Iliya Damagum, and Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State among other defendants.

Justice Akintola held that the claimant had provided sufficient grounds for urgent judicial intervention, praising the transparency of the filings made, including both the ex parte motion and interlocutory application.

The case has been adjourned to November 10, 2025, for further hearing. A certified true copy of the court order was issued by the Principal Registrar, Mrs. S. O. Hammed.
