Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden to Visit Nigeria Strengthening Bilateral Ties

Nigeria will host Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden on an official visit from Monday, April 7 to Wednesday, April 9, 2025, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced.

In a statement issued by the Ministry’s Spokesperson, Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, the visit is aimed at bolstering diplomatic and economic relations between Nigeria and the Kingdom of Sweden.

During her three-day visit, the Crown Princess is expected to hold high-level engagements with senior Nigerian officials. She will be formally received by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, on April 7 in Abuja.

Crown Princess Victoria will also meet with Nigeria’s Vice President, His Excellency Kashim Shettima, GCON, and pay a courtesy visit to the Governor of Lagos State. While in Lagos, she is scheduled to commission the newly established Swedish Trade Office—an initiative expected to boost bilateral trade and investment.

The visit highlights the growing cooperation between Nigeria and Sweden, with shared interests in sustainable development, trade, gender equality, and cultural diplomacy.

“This visit reaffirms the cordial relationship between our two countries and our mutual commitment to exploring new avenues of partnership,” the Ministry’s statement noted.

Nigeria expressed optimism that the engagement will yield meaningful outcomes for both nations.
