“The UAE has never viewed the Abraham Accords as an abandonment of the Palestinian cause,” Nusseibeh stressed. “Rather, they represent a pathway to reinforce support for an independent Palestinian state.”

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has reiterated its commitment to peace, coexistence, and the pursuit of a two-state solution as the only viable path to resolving the Israeli–Palestinian conflict.

Speaking on behalf of the government, Her Excellency Lana Nusseibeh, Assistant Minister for Political Affairs and Envoy of the UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs, said the UAE remains steadfast in supporting the legitimate aspirations of the Palestinian people while working to promote stability in the wider Middle East.

Reflecting on the Abraham Accords signed in 2020 under the leadership of then-U.S. President Donald Trump, Nusseibeh explained that the agreements were built on a vision of peace anchored in “prosperity, coexistence, and tolerance.”

“The UAE has never viewed the Abraham Accords as an abandonment of the Palestinian cause,” Nusseibeh stressed. “Rather, they represent a pathway to reinforce support for an independent Palestinian state.”

She recalled that at the signing, the UAE Foreign Minister, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, welcomed Israel’s decision to suspend annexation plans, describing it as a “step towards a better Middle East and a shared will to achieve a brighter future for generations.”

However, Nusseibeh cautioned that **renewed proposals to annex parts of the West Bank** would contradict the spirit of the accords, undermine regional integration, and jeopardise the consensus on a peaceful two-state solution.

“Such actions would represent a red line for the UAE,” she warned, urging the Israeli government to suspend any annexation moves.

On the current crisis in Gaza, Nusseibeh said the first steps towards de-escalation must include ending the war, releasing hostages, and preventing Hamas from continuing to control the territory.

Looking ahead, she said the priority should be to restore law and order in Gaza, establish credible and reformed Palestinian governance, and achieve reunification of Gaza and the West Bank under one political authority.

“The path to peace requires courage, persistence, and a refusal to allow extremism or violence to dictate the future of the region,” she added.

Reaffirming its position, the UAE declared its unwavering support for a two-state solution, with Israel and Palestine living side by side in peace, security, and prosperity.
