…engages Corps Members To Manage The Stations
The National Youth Service Corps, NYSC is to inaugurate it’s Radio and Television on Thursday, the 14th of next week.
The Director General of the Scheme, Major General Shuaibu Ibrahim announced this during a courtesy visit by Youth Affairs Correspondent Association to the Yakubu Gowon House in Abuja.
He explained that media play vital roles in the progress of any organization as accurate and timely information needed to be disseminated to the public.
The NYSC DG pointed out that over twenty Corps members had been selected to manage the television and radio stations.
General Ibrahim commended efforts of the Correspondents geared towards projecting activities and achievements of the scheme to the world.
He pledged sustained support to Journalists especially in the area of training and re-training.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Association, Mr. Romanus Ugwu said the aim of the visit was to Congratulate the Director General on his recent promotion.
Mr. Ugwu urged the NYSC DG to support plans by the Association to organize training of it’s members for better impact on their work through quality reportage.
Highlight of the event was a presentation of a big portrait of the Director General by members of the Association.
