Police operatives in Anambra State have arrested 37-year-old Anthony Kosisochukwu Okafor of Adegbe Village, Abagana, Njikoka Local Government Area, for allegedly killing his elder brother, Emmanuel Okafor, 45, during a domestic dispute.
According to police reports, the incident occurred following a heated argument over the use of foodstuffs in their home. The disagreement escalated into a physical fight, during which Kosisochukwu allegedly used a stick to pierce his brother’s chest.
Emmanuel was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead by the attending doctor.
Confirming the arrest, Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, Tochukwu Ikenga, described the incident as disturbing and emphasized the importance of managing domestic conflicts peacefully.
“This tragic case highlights the need for families to handle disputes constructively to prevent such irreparable consequences,” Ikenga stated.
The case has been transferred to the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Awka, and the suspect will be charged to court upon the conclusion of the investigation.
