Labour Minister – Migrate Legally To Avoid Imprisonment

The Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment has urged Nigerians seeking opportunities abroad to ensure they migrate legally with the necessary documents to avoid legal consequences, including imprisonment.

Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr. Muhammad Dingyadi, made this call in Abuja while receiving a delegation from the IHK Giessen-Friedberg Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Germany.

Dr. Dingyadi emphasized the importance of facilitating legal labour migration, job creation, and dual vocational training as part of Nigeria’s economic development strategy.

“As a government, we are committed to supporting initiatives that promote structured migration and economic partnerships between our two countries,” Dingyadi stated. “Our doors remain open to fostering collaborations that will benefit both nations.”

In response, Mathias Leder, President of the IHK Giessen-Friedberg Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Germany, stressed the need for economic integration and skills development for Nigerians.

The meeting aimed to strengthen ties between Nigeria and Germany, focusing on enhancing employment opportunities and vocational training for Nigerian workers.
