The Interim National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress ADC, Senator David Mark, has assured Nigerians that his leadership would prioritise transparency within the party.

Senator Mark emphasized that the coalition party remained neutral regarding presidential aspirants, with a focus on crafting a compelling platform which resonates with the majority of Nigerians.

The former senate president who stated this while addressing the stakeholders of the Kogi State chapter of the ADC at a meeting in Abuja, stressed that all the members of the party were “equal stakeholders, equal joiners and equal owners “.

He urged members to put their differences aside and work as a team, adding that, they must bond together to build the party before  talking of ambitions.

Meanwhile, the ADC has accused a rival political party of using the names of some non-ADC members to file a suit against the party and its interim leadership.

The party alleged that the names which were used to file the suit were neither in the ADC physical nor digital registers in Kogi or Nasarawa State.

In a related development, Three members of the party, Adeyemi Emmanuel, Ayodeji Tolu, and Haruna Ismaila, are asking the Federal High Court in Abuja, to determine the legality of the interim leadership of the ADC.

The plaintiffs argued that the founding member, Ralph Nwosu lackes the right to convene either a National Working Committee (NWC) or National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting or any other since his tenure as national chairman had expired.

They also stated that interim executives “cannot and should not act” in a leadership capacity, noting that they were appointed by an illegal meeting organised by a former national chairman.

However, the National Legal Support Group for ADC has expressed its preparedness to provide legal representation for the party in court over the ongoing matter filed against the party and its interim leadership.

The leader of the group, Mr. Mohammed Sheriff, revealed that 97 lawyers had indicated interest to represent the party in all its court proceedings.
