Prominent Jamaican-American podcaster DJ Akademiks has dismissed speculation linking Grammy Award-winning rapper Cardi B with Nigerian Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye, saying he does not believe the pair are romantically involved.
Rumours of a possible relationship between Cardi B, born Belcalis Almánzar, and Okoye have circulated on social media in recent days, although neither has publicly addressed the speculation.
Speaking during a livestream, Akademiks argued that Cardi B is accustomed to dating wealthy men and claimed that someone earning about $900,000 annually would not fit her dating preferences.
“Offset done tricked on her and spoiled her too much. Even Stefon Diggs stepped it up. You can’t come after that making a million a year,” he said.
Akademiks maintained that the interaction between Cardi B and the Super Eagles goalkeeper was likely nothing more than a friendly conversation, dismissing claims that they are in a romantic relationship.
